You have three options to control how much of a transcript you see when listening to a story: Show all words, Show some words, or Hide all words. This selective redaction — or "x-ray" filter as we sometimes call it — is a key feature of the Jiveworld Method.
Other apps take an all-or-nothing approach to showing the transcript. Showing nothing leaves the learner floundering, unable to piece together a narrative. But displaying all of the words means you are most likely just reading and doing very little active listening.
With this filter, you choose the level of help you need, while keeping your ears working hard to fill in the gaps. We also provide other assistance such as speed control and hints in your primary language preceding each passage.
What shows in "x-ray" filter modes?

SIC – These entries indicate non-standard or erroneous usage by the speaker and are marked by an asterisk. Corrections are displayed in brackets inline with the transcript.
Vocabulary — Words and phrases that might be unfamiliar to you. Definitions are available when you pause the playback to activate the vocabulary panel.
Tricky Bits — These are words and phrases that should be familiar, but might be difficult to discern because of the way they are spoken. In the following example, see how only "sueco" is a vocabulary word, but "una vez que se perdió" is also unredacted? Those are tricky bits.
