Curated vocabulary is a key feature of the Jiveworld Method. Vocabulary is hand-selected by our editors, chunked with the important surrounding words, and paired with an idiomatic translation.

It's important to learn in context and translate idiom-to-idiom. Most apps will do a word-by-word context-free dictionary lookup, but that leaves the learner lost with an expression like "hair of the dog," which refers to alcohol that is consumed as a hangover remedy, for which a literal translation would make no sense.

On occasion you will encounter a word you don't recognize and which isn't in the curated vocabulary. In that case, open the Translation Panel (use the tab key if you have a keyboard) and you'll figure it out.
